A stone’s throw from Redfern train station, Charlie’s Community Garden is a streetside playground for bees and birds with flourishing herb and vegetable beds – plus one very impressive pile of compost. It’s tended by locals during their personal time, for the love of food gardening and meeting others who feel the same.
Youth Food Movement’s Sydney chapter spent a day in the garden filming for our short film, Sourced. There, we talked about our thoughts on the food system and what we might be able to do to help make it better. Not too shabby a setting for it.
